Dental implants are one of our specialties.
We’ve created new smiles for hundreds of happy patients.
What happens when you get a dental implant?
Dental implants can restore your ability to chew and smile. There are several types of implants we offer, depending on your individual requirements. During your initial visit, our dentist will evaluate your bone and gum health. This is to assess the condition of your general and oral health, to ensure you are a good candidate for dental implants.
Assuming everything is in order for the implant, the work can begin. To start, your dental clinician will place an artificial root made from titanium into your jaw. Once this is complete, you will need a few months for the gum to properly heal around the root before the next step can be completed. When the gum is healed, your dental clinician can follow the steps necessary to create your implant.
What are the four different types of dental implants?
At Dentology, we offer four types of dental implants. They are a proven way to replace missing or broken teeth and can be a real life-changer for many people. Our implant- supported dentures and All-on-4® dental implants are also designed with affordability in mind. Ask us how we can help keep the costs down.
Designed to replace a single tooth, these implants are made of three parts. There’s a titanium post which is inserted into your jawbone to become an artificial root. Then we attach a metal abutment on top to serve as a connector. And finally, we place a dental crown over that.
If you’re missing a tooth or need to replace a damaged tooth, this is an excellent option.
For people who are missing multiple teeth, this is often our recommendation. This type of bridge does not anchor to neighbouring teeth, so you will be able to keep those.
An implant-supported bridge is made up from two or more implants that support a false (or pontic) tooth.
If you’re missing all of your teeth, implant-supported dentures are highly suitable. These are made up of a false tooth that is attached to a metal frame. The frame is secured to dental implants.
This procedure is a great choice if you want to have dentures that look and feel natural. Another benefit is that they are more stable than traditional dentures and can help restore your bite.
All-on-4® Dental Implants
All-on-4® dental implants are made up of four dental implants that support a full arch of false teeth. They are also called ‘Teeth in a Day’ as the entire procedure can be completed in one day.
All-on-4® implants stabilise the denture, so you can talk, eat and smile with confidence. They are also a highly effective way to overcome any bone deficiencies in your jaw.
If you are considering dental implants, please arrange a time to discuss all of your options with your dentist so that we can find the right solution for you.
